In which I went out in a date

A dear friend of mine and I went to the Quarry Market and derped around and attended a showing of The Great Gatsby at the Quarry Cinema. Afterwards, we went to Joe's Crab Shack. I had the shrimp, and she had crab nachos.

All in all, I called this date a rousing success and I hope to do go out with her again. Hopefully, the feeling will be mutual.

Until we meet again kids,

I got a new phone, and pizza

Ever since Christmas, I have been in anticipation of the new Samsung GALAXY models of phones. Most notably the S3. Before I go on, no this is not an ad for anything. Except the phone I'm holding in my hands right now.  When my birthday rolled around a few weeks ago, I noticed something unusual in my bag of presents. It was a piece of paper that had this title, "Reasons why to wait for the S4. Months after the S3 was released, someone got the idea to release the S4. Thankfully, I found out about it. And that is how I got the newest model of Galaxy phones.

And now for something completely different.

I have noticed that I have been eating a lot more pizza than I have in the past. On Saturday,  I visited the White House café in Floresville.  And had a medium sized pepperoni pizza. I ate the damn thing whole.  Monday, I had two slices of the cafeteria's pizza. And yesterday, my dad made some DiJornos pizza. Needless to say, I'm pretty good when it comes to Ninja Turtle feul.
Know what sounds good now? Applesauce!

Roofers are roofin'

Today, when I arrived home, I noticed about eight, nine, or ten people on my roof. I thought to myself as I looked in the mirror, "Self, should I go up there and have a few beers with them, invite them down afterwards for beer, or say 'HEY! NOT WHILE I'M WATCHING SALE OF THE CENTURY!'?"

Well maybe I should back up a little. Recently, there was a storm that totally screwed up the roofs in my neighborhood. So all of us are getting new roofs. My dad took it a step further by getting us new window screens.

So those first two decisions are pretty self explanatory. That last one though needs a small explanation.
Ever since Sale of the Century started re-running, I find myself recording episodes, then watching them when I return home from school. So, I would ask the roofers to hold off on the roofing until I got through watching, that way I could migrate to my room and turn up the stereo So I wouldn't hear them.

What ended up happening is that I fell asleep and was awoken by my two cats who wanted to be fed. *Sigh* Oh well.

Until we meet again,

So I had a birthday

This past Tuesday was my birthday.

La-dee-f**kin-da

That evening I decided to have dinner at the local Dave & Busters. After a few hours of EPIC PWNAGE, the manager decided to walk around the area to see how the customers were doing, something of which I approve of. I told the manager that it was my birthday, and I work for KSYM.
;-) So what does he do? He gives me five, count em FIVE, $10 power cards. HO NELSON! Was I the happiest kid in that arcade or what?

The Next Day
Now, one of my hobbies is video editing. Years ago, I got a video editing suite for my laptop computer (Compaw Persario V5000) I lost the disk a few years ago, but ordered a new copy later. All I need is a camera and I'l be able to do all sorts of wonderful YouTube uploads. I can't wait!

Yesterday
I decided to put on my Sunday best, because I'm taking this one girl out to lunch and I only want the best for her. There is an Italian restaraunt near the KSYM studios called Main Street Pizza and Pasta which all KSYMers are required to go to at least once.
So I'm waiting for he when this cute lady started complementing my suit. We started talking for a while and I wound up getting her phone number. How do you like that? I'm taking one girl on a date, and I'm getting this other chick's number! Imagine that.

All in all, this week has been pretty badass. But then, when you're me, everyweek is badass.

So I think I got my old job back for the moment

I ran into one of my old friends and they said that they came by my house while I was in SA herp derping around. And they asked me if I could take them to Seguin.

Now, my past history with these two hasn't been the best. Last Summer, I was driving them around SA as somewhat of a Summer job. Johnny, the husband, married my friend, Clarrisa, the wife, at a very young age. He was 25 or 26 (Hell if I can remember.) She was fresh out of High school and was 18 or 19 (Gee, you'd think I remember this crap!) As a married couple, these two would argue in the backseat of my car. (Something I disapprove of) So one day, I kicked them out of my car and told them to walk home.

Months have passed and I got over this situation so I volunteered to take them to Seguin, which is what I will do.

What is OPEN All Night?

OPEN All Night is a program that airs on local station KSYM 90.1FM. What I play during my two hours is electronica (ex. Kraak and Smaak, Daft Punk, Rodruiguez Jr. those kinds of things.) I offer helpful "Pro-tips" on getting through life and bring out a little weatherman who lives in my pocket named Mark.

It begins at 11pm Eastern/10pm Central and ends at 1am Eastern/12am Central on 90.1Fm KSYM. You can stream the station by going to www.ksym.org and click on "Listen using Media Player" HOPEFULLY IT WORKS!!!

Spring Break Begins!!!

Didn't do a lot of things, just visited my girlfriend and that was all. I know, doing blogs everyday can be tiresome.

So today was more fun!

First of all:

And yes. I got on the internet to tell the world this. So there.

Before all that, my girlfriend and I visited Cici's Pizza near North Star Mall. Whilst in North Star Mall, we visited Macy's and had to explain to the makeup clerk that we didn't have the money to buy a $25 eyeliner. I know, stupid. Oh well. (It's my money, and it's none of your business how much I have at any given time)

So needless to say, we had a fun time today.

Fun in the Classroom and beyond

Today, in Walking (Don't laugh, it's a class here at SAC), we went on a walk from where we were (San Pedro Avenue and Ashby Place, up Ashby Place until reaching the Jewish Temple, taking a left, and just going up Belknap until we reached... Well the main idea is that my group had to walk a couple of miles. Since I haven't really done anything other than walk around Rivercenter Mall, or any of the malls here in SA, I'm not really in any shape to walk even a mile. Nevertheless, I got through it through the help and power of music.

I was taking with one of the walkers when this came up:

Her 1: Man you know I drink everyday, especially after I get through something like this.

Her 2: I know right? It's so tiring, but I think I'm losing a little bit of weight.

Her 1: Yeah? Well I've been praying and praying to lose weight

Me: Who have YOU been praying to? The God of Budwieser? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLZ

Afterwards, I went to eat at Jim's Restaurant and had me one of their patty melts. The one thing I remember is that the waiter would wait for me to take a bare sip of my Mountain Dew and he would refill it right on the spot. At least wait for me to finish it will ya!

When I came back to school (I was late for my Stars and Galaxies Class) I saw something interesting. Four tubes hooked up, almost looking like florescent or neon lights. Our class was given a special kind of looking glass, or lens, whatever, meant for the diffraction of light. We tested it on Helium, Neon, Hydrogen, and Florescent light.

Here's an example of what I mean using a "laser". No friggin sharks though :-( Sorry.

After class, I decided to go back home to Floresville (A 35 minute drive from SAC) and get myself a haircut. Since I didn't shower after my Walking class (A type of Gym class I might add) I returned home for mu necessary shower. Since I have long hair (See Below) I had a hell of a time getting the leftover hair from
clogging up my drain. In the end, It looked like I could give a baby a mullet, but I digress. Apologies if you are reading this while eating.

After all that, I made ANOTHER trip to San Antonio to see my girlfriend to assist her with her Skype. But once again, the power of the internetz defeated me. One of these days, I will get internetz faster than the God damned government or Chattanoga, Tennessee. Apologies of you're from Tennessee. ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL

I told you "IF" I remember

So Wednesday, I went to class and I was approached by my teacher, she asked me if I could come by her office later. (Dun dun DUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNN) So I tell her I got time right now, and she (Like most of my teachers) take it as a personal threat to her well being. Oh well, class goes on without a hitch.

Later, I went to see my girlfriend to return her laptop I retrieved the day before. She was anxious to get it so we could video chat, but it turns out, my internetz prevented us from Skype-ing. Oh well, at least I got plenty of KISSES!!! (I likez teh KISSES from teh ladiez)

Afterward, I had a meeting to attend. During the meeting, my program director accused me of smart mouthing when I didn't even say a word. Oh well, that's a manager for you.

Afterwards, I decided to derp around Whole Foods (An organic Supermarket), and I ran across something called "Parmesan Crisps". Want to make some?

Take some FRESHLY grated parm (Not the kind you put on your pizza when at Pizza Hut) put little mounds and spread them around until you get a couple of disks of Parmesan on a silicone (Not the kind for fake boobs) baking sheet, slap them into an oven for 10 minutes and presto!

Afterwards I arrived home to my two cats (Dakota and her daughter Salem) meowing their heads off about me being late for feeding time AGAIN.

Well, that's Wednesday for ya.

Party City does Mambo #5 and other disasters

This morning, I was watching TV eating Cheerios, and I came across an ad for Party City's St. Patrick's Day stuff, and it features a cover of Lou Bega's Mambo #5 (Which I haven't heard in 10 years). My question is, Why? There's a thousand different songs that I can and can't stand that they could have used. But since I still like Mambo #5 (The original, not the pussified Disney version) It was a refreshing way to start the morining.

When I got to my US History class, I was anticipating an acquaintance with her notes because I decided to mis THREE classes due to a lack of a textbook (My coffee table hasn't been stable since this morning when I started using it for its intended purpose). To my surprise and dismay, she wasn't there. Oh well. It isn't the end of the world.

Afterwards, I came to work where one of my surperiors said I had to be moved (For the time being) to the main office area rather than the front desk. Remember, this isn't permanent. I'll explain later why because it is probably gonna take up a post.

Speaking of later, I'll be back later with why my Media Literacy teacher hates me, why it took so long to get my girlfriend's laptop, and other things that are on my mind.

Today marks a new beginning!!!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Matt. (How do you do?) I live in Floresville, a town twenty minutes outside San Antonio, Texas. This blog is meant to entertain you (To a certain extent) And to give you a glimpse into my life as either, the promotions director of a College-Based radio station KSYM, as a disk jockey for said station, or as an all around annoyance in the other aspects of my life.

You will also see from time to time a feature called "The Video Funhouse" It will feature YouTube (You know with all this Google integration stuff...) videos that I just find interesting or uninteresting.
For instance:

Hopefully this works...
Today on the Video Funhouse, my favoritest song EVAH!!!

So stay Tuned for more posts like that.
Within the upcoming days, you'll see and learn more about me.
